Arno Park in Kansas City - “Big Blue Slide” Park

Located off the charming Ward Parkway in Kansas City lies Arno Park, a beloved local treasure that recently underwent a remarkable transformation in 2023. While it may have stood for over 70 years, the recent overhaul has injected it with fresh energy and exciting features, making it a must-visit park for families in the Kansas City metro. Perhaps you're thinking, "Arno Park isn't new; it's been around for ages." And you're absolutely correct! However, the recent renovations have breathed new life into this classic spot, offering visitors an array of engaging attractions to explore. So, if you haven't had the chance to experience the revamped Arno Park, now is the perfect time to add it to your list of adventures.

One of the standout features of the revitalized Arno Park is its unique large blue slide, complemented by a challenging climbing net. While stunning, this feature is designed for children aged 5 to 12. For the little ones aged 1-5, there's a charming toddler play set complete with slides, ensuring fun for the whole family.

  • No restrooms

  • Ward Parkway is busy and not easy to cross. Park on the west side of Ward Parkway.

  • Head to the Ward Parkway Center for great dining options and a patio with grassy space for kids to play while you enjoy a beverage or night out!

Address & Parking: Located on the west side of Ward Parkway at W. 69th St. and Arno Rd. You can route to Saint Johns United Methodist Church for specific directions and to park if the church is not having a service.
