Strang Park Inclusive Playground in Overland Park, KS
The best free fun you will find in the Kansas City area? PARKS! Seriously, the parks around here are incredible. The ones in Johnson County, KS are some of the best-maintained parks I have found in the Kansas City area. When we moved to the KC area and were new to town the first adventures we took were to local parks. We could probably go to a new park every day and never get bored! Our family loves visiting Strang Park, an inclusive park in Overland Park, KS.
Here is one of my family’s favorite inclusive parks - Strang Park in Overland Park, KS!
Strang Park in Overland Park, KS
A brand new, inclusive playground right next to one of our favorite Johnson County Libraries, the Central Resource Library. We love Strang Park in Overland Park, KS for its vast assortment of structures to play on for children of all sizes, ages, and capabilities. When you arrive at Strang Park you will see a beautiful sculpture with Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
Strang Park sits on an 11-acre lot and the entire playground area is fenced in. This is a HUGE bonus for me as a mom so I know my toddler isn’t going to run into the parking lot. You can make a whole day out of this park but visiting the Central Resource Library for storytime and then walking over to the playground for a picnic lunch and playtime.
